After considering the situation carefully, Karston's mind began to overflow with questions.
"At her size she could have easily eaten me at any time, so why did she use an illusion to try and trick me first? And if the illusion was just a trick, then why is she still crying? If she only wanted to toy with me before eating me, then she would have simply gobbled me up the instant I saw through her illusion. So why hasn't she made a move yet? She doesn't seem to be faking those tears. It seems like she's really depressed about something... Maybe she really just wanted someone to talk to, but she knew that I would freak out if she tried to approach me directly. That would explain the need for that illusion, but what could possibly be wrong? Surely at her size there shouldn't be many things that can bother her, right? But I can't help but feel that there is something bothering her. Maybe I should see if I can help. Perhaps if I befriend her, then I won't have to worry about her causing me harm." Karston thought...

As she looked down at this tiny human, the only one who ever tried to speak to her like a person and not a monster, her mind was filled with hope.
"Why is he still here? Every other human I've met has fled at the mere sight of me. Could this one be different? Perhaps he can tell that I mean him no harm. Maybe this human sees me as something other than a heartless beast. If he sees that I'm truly a kind spirit, then perhaps he will stay with me. He may even be willing to become my very first friend! Oh, what should I do... I don't know how to respond to him!" She thought...
