Chapter #11
An Exit to The Unknown
by: Unknown
You walk towards the door that leads to the patio. The walk took a lot more effort than you thought it would. The floor is not as smooth as it would seem when you are the size of a tiny ant, each time you cross a tile you have to go through a trench between the next tile; which adds more time to the travel. And the biggest issue is the distance. It takes tens of minutes but finally you are at the door. Although it is closed, you are easily little enough to slip through crevices while standing straight and with plenty of room to spare.
No longer in the cooled air of the indoors, your body is greeted by the heat of the outdoors. The ground of the patio is a soft wood. You take another long walk to the door to the backyard. By now, you can hear the voices of your mom and Laney. They are muffled from the distance and screens of the patio but they become louder and louder as your travel concludes. Soon you are slipping through the door to the backyard.
The heat intensifies now that you have direct exposure to the sun above. The ground is a rocky landscape of cement and in the distance a dense jungle of grass surrounds the complex of cement that covers the distance of several large cities combined. In the middle of all this were two colossal women. Goddesses in their own right. They sat on their lawn chairs, red cups filled with intoxicating beverages while they shared their experiences at work, with their kids, and even their sex lives. Their voices no longer muffled, the booming sounds of their conversations echoed through the void of space and the vibrations forced their way into your ears no matter how much you tried to ignore it to focus on the women themselves.
Your heart is pounding so loud that you hear the heartbeat in your head even through the women's loud chatter. You take a deep breath before choosing between which woman you really want to approach for a closer look. Your raven haired mother at the right chair or the fiery haired neighbor to the left.
