"Okaaay,"Shannon says, "but are you sure you don't want to stick around until you can catch a glimpse of Todd?"
"What?" Grace laughs. "Why would I want to look at your stupid brother?"
"I've seen the way you look at him..."
"Shut up!" Grace laughs again, playfully pushing at your sister's chest, causing her to stumble back a step and you to fall off her sock. You duck and cover, fearful of the feet that could crush you at a moment's notice.
"Fine, fine, you keep on living in denial, girl. Gimme a moment to get my shoes on..."
Now you are glad you fell off when you did; had you still been on that sock when that tennis shoe went on, you'd have been scraped in half. As your sister bellows her intention to leave the house to everyone still within - yourself included - you must decide what to do.
You could hitch a ride on the feet of either one of these tween girls - your sister's shoes, or Grace's birkenstocks - or else let them leave (you're already hoping their cries aren't giving you hearing damage) and remain within the house to try and get someone else's aid.
