This choice: You decide to take a walk, and get some fresh air • Go Back...Chapter #4You decide to take a walk, and get some fresh air by: Unknown Things are just too emotional in your house right now. It's starting to make you a little depressed. It's not that stuffy in your home but you're feeling a bit lightheaded. You decide not to tell your parents you're headed out. It'll just be for a little bit, and you don't want to deal with their protests. Slipping out the side door you walk up your driveway and onto the sidewalk. You're not sure where you're headed. You just need to get away for a little while. Maybe you'll just walk around the block and head back?
The fresh crisp air does little to help. You still feel a little dizzy and weak. You continue to walk down the sidewalk.... and then you stagger. Your right knee cap impacts with the cement, and you have to place a hand on the ground to balance yourself. You breath heavily for a few minutes before deciding you're strong enough to stand back up. Somethings wrong with you. You're not sure what, but you don't feel right at all. You're not too far from your house, only five or six homes away. Perhaps it's time to turn back now.
You rotate, deciding to head back the way you came, but suddenly you're forced into a half kneeling position once more. Your head feels like it's pulsating and you suddenly feel nauseous. You try not to empty your lunch out on the sidewalk in front of you. The sensation is more weird and disorienting than painful. What the hell is going on?
That's when you notice your clothes, already baggy from the past days shrinking, are now much too big for you. In fact they seem to be growing by the minute! You seem to be getting closer and closer to the sidewalk, as if it's rushing up to meet you. Suddenly, as quickly as it had come on, the bizarre sensation is gone. You're trapped beneath a sea of clothing. Blue jeans, boxers, and the hoodie you'd been wearing earlier. You try to wade through the heavy mass, and eventually make out of the clutter, heading down a dark tunnel. You continue to crawl through the tunnel until you come out of the sleeve of your hoodie. You stand up scared, naked, and cold.
Completely exposed to the elements, you do the best you can to cover yourself. What the hell just happened?! Weren't you supposed to shrink over the course of several days? It was a new disease so the doctor didn't have specifics. You'd actually accepted your fate, but you hadn't known the shrinking was going to happen instantaneously! What were you going to do now that you're outside of your house, completely defenseless against neighborhood pets? No one even knows you're out here!
"I...... I cannot believe I just saw that happen." You hear a loud, clear, feminine voice proclaim.
Looking up in shock you see indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
