(For the purpose of this story, Midna did not shatter the Twilight Mirror, and did not transform back into her 'True' form)
Link and Midna were engaged, for both political reasons and more emotional ones. In their journeys together, they had grown quite attached to each other, though neither admitted it. They're still continuing to tell themselves and each other that they're only doing this for the good of their respective lands.
"Link! Hurry up! The kids want you to transform!" The kids that Midna was referring to, were, of course, not theirs. They were the kids of Ordon Village, which now is a rather big town, thanks to Link's influence on it.
"Coming! Sheesh, you act like.... Well, actually you act like you always have," he replied from his treehouse. He leapt down from the top of it, tumbling forward to avoid any injuries. And, of course, getting his clothes dirty, though neither of them cared. He was dressed in his usual garb, a green tunic. Without warning, he found himself falling to four feet, growing fur quickly. He growled, and though most people wouldn't understand, Midna, a creature of the Twili, understood perfectly.
"I know. That's why I did it," she said, the familiar mischievious gleam in her eyes.
A wolf smile spread acrosss Link's chops.
