This choice: Rei doesn't grow right away and it's decided Asuka will now be in the experiment • Go Back...Chapter #4Orders to retry the experiment by: Lelouch   Walking out of the large hangar Rei stared blankly at the sky, she knew little to nothing outside of NERV and thus free time seemed more like pointless time to her, but she wasn't needed anymore and she did all she could.
Thinking of something to do Rei came up with nothing but NERV related activities, it was unreal that her fellow pilots were so...normal compared to her. Thinking of her fellow pilots made Rei realize she could spend the day with them, more of a way of increasing their friendship and in turn teamwork than actually seeking enjoyment on her part.
As the blue haired teen left the room Ritsuko let out a sad sigh, realizing that with this being her experiment she would also have to be the one to face Gendo and inform him of its failure.
Pulling out a small light blue cell phone Ritsuko dialed a number and placed the device against her ear, almost instantly a voice on the other line answered. "Yes?" The voice was clearly Gendo's, it held the no nonsense tone he always had.
Ritsuko paused for a moment, thinking of how to break the news, "It's me. The experiment was a failure."
A brief silence came from Gendo, after a sigh he spoke again, "The subject in the experiment was the First Child correct?"
Taken slightly back by the odd question Ritsuko nodded despite the fact no one was with her, "Correct, the subject was Rei Ayanami."
"Redo the experiment, this time with the Second Child."
Nearly dropping her phone Ritsuko replied "A-Asuka?! But why?"
"There is a possibility the experiment failed due to the First Child's 'situation' We need to test it on another to be sure."
Ritsuko, seeing the logic of Gendo's words sighed, "Very well. I will contact Asuka via her phone and have her come immediately." With that Gendo hung up, ending the conversation.
Ritsuko once again began dialing a number, this time the number belonging to Asuka's cell phone.
Meanwhile Rei, out and about in the city spotted her fellow Eva pilots in a crowd. Asuka wore a pleased expression, along with seven shopping bags in each hand. Shinji was behind her, carrying roughly 12 boxes and 9 bags.
Approaching them silently Rei was just beside Shinji when she revealed herself, "Hello,"
Taken aback by the sudden appearance of his attractive friend Shinji fell over, dropping all of the things he carried and also earning a quick punch from Asuka.
Eyeing Rei somewhat rudely Asuka said, "Hey...."
Thinking Asuka wanted something Rei replied, "Yes?"
Then.....   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
