"Itsuki, you're worrying too much." I shrugged. While I normally wasn't the biggest supporter of Haruhi's antics, there are times when a man does what he has to do. "Haruhi's hand is definitely in this, I'll admit. But, she's getting her way, right? Things only get bad when Haruhi has a reason for it. Outside of the costume shop not selling the larger sizes, I don't see anything that might set her off. Haruhi gets her way, no anger, no closed space, no problem. Right?" I was surprised at how convincing I was. Pity no one could've heard that.
Contrary to almost all other moments I've known him, Itsuki was not smiling. "Maybe... I suppose it wouldn't hurt to continue to observe Ms. Suzumiya's behavior." He paused to collect his thoughts. I didn't get it. Why was Itsuki so worried about this? It wasn't a huge deal, even if it was Haruhi's fault. Although, I'm sure from Ms. Asahina's point of view, things were much, shall I say, closer to the chest? "I just don't want this one to get out of hand."
Ms. Asahina's quiet whimpering subsided, and Haruhi yelled for us to come in again.
Itsuki's face broke into his ever present and all too familiar smile. "All right, we'll play this one by ear. I suppose we shouldn't keep Ms. Suzumiya waiting."
Even a size larger, the cow suit made Ms. Asahina's growth all the more apparent. The skirt--too small by design--was noticeably stretched by her generous hips. Even more so was the top, struggling to contain the giant, unstoppable beasts they were charged to contain. I must have been staring, because Ms Asahina caught my eyes, and began to nervously stare at the floor.
"Geez, Mikuru, you're huge!" Haruhi jumped on the innocent girl again. "I'm going to need to size up all of your costumes! You're never going to fit in those again!" Haruhi flopped into her seat at the head of the SOS brigade table. She made a wide, sweeping gesture toward the teapot in the corner. "Mikuru! Tea, please. With milk!"
I'm sure things happened afterwards, it's almost never a quiet day in Brigade Headquarters, but to tell you the truth, I don't remember. All I could think about the rest of the day was updating my Asahina Gallery.
I listened to Yuki turn her pages and Koizumi's pieces click on our board until I felt myself walking away from the clubroom.
