Charlie saw that the label read "anklets." He had seen them before as a fashion statement, but couldn't understand what that had to do with him. "Hey," he called out, "why'd you put me in here?" Cindy smiled and said "I could explain it, but it would be a lot more fun to wait until someone purchases you. Then you'll get to see firsthand." As Charlie screamed for freedom, Cindy ignored his pleas and walked away, tending to the rest of the store.
After about 3 hours, Charlie saw Cindy walk up to his jar with a woman. Cindy said "Ms. Lockhart, here's what I was telling you about." She then reached down below Charlie and picked up an anklet that she showed to the woman. Charlie watched the two of them admire the piece of jewelry and he heard the woman say "it's very nice, but what's this part for?" Cindy nodded and replied "ah, the cage, that's the most important feature." Charlie recoiled as he saw his captor reach into his jar, but there was nowhere for him to run so within seconds she had fished him out. "Now," she said, "here's how it works. The jewelry goes around your leg just above the ankle. The cage is for this little guy. You place him inside and lock the door. That way, you will walk around with the empowering feeling that a tiny guy is trapped in a cage, forced to look at nothing but your feet and constantly colliding with your ankle. It's quite a rush."
Ms. Lockhart looked at the anklet and then at Charlie struggling to free himself from Cindy's grip. "Interesting," she said, "can I give it a try?" Cindy nodded and Charlie was forced into the cage on the anklet. The door was slammed shut and he found that there was no way for him to get out. There was next to no room to move inside, and the bars were large enough for him to see through, but too small to stick anything but his fingers out. He felt the cage drop as Cindy bent down to secure it to Ms. Lockhart's leg. He was then bounced about as the woman walked around, trying to get a sense of how it would feel. Charlie was getting very dizzy with no hopes of escape. He looked up and saw that she was admiring how it looked in a mirror. "I'll take it," she exclaimed, and she and Cindy went to the counter so Ms. Lockhart could pay. The entire time Charlie was not removed from his position.
