Chapter #3

watch out for the giant dog

"Now to put you out of sight", he said as he carefully placed the cage on a shelf under the counter. The shelf was about 2 feet off the floor.

He stooped down to watch her as she pulled and tugged at the bars of the cage.
"Miss, I don't think you will be able to escape. Ha, ha,ha!", he told her.

"Let me out, let me out of here. I'm not an animal for you to keep caged. I'm a grown woman!", Ella yelled at him.
Mr Hember stuck a finger between the bars and gave her a push back.
"You may be a grown woman, but your no bigger than a doll now! ha, ha,ha!", he said as she went sprawling back.
"I don't know what made you so small, but I'm gonna find out! That stuff would bring a pretty penny!"

He stood up and walked to the next room of his store. As he did, a dog entered the open front door. It walked around the shop, sniffing just about everything. Walking behind the counter Ella sees it. It was HUGE to her. It also smelled terrible and was covered with dust.
The dust was tickling her nose and Ella sneezed. This caused the dog to see her. He sniffs the cage. Ella walks to the back of the cage away from him.

"Stay away from me", she tells him and throws a sunflower seed, left by the previous cage occupant, at the dog. The dog growls at her. He sticks a paw up and touches the cage. As he does, he also pushes it to the side. This causes it to fall off the shelf onto the floor. The cage comes apart and Ella is face to face with the dog!

What does the dog do?
