Keitaro knew that there were always strange things happening at the Hinata House. Today, he was going to experience just how bad things can get. Keitaro had just gotten home from school and it was another rough day. So, he decided that he would go rest in the hot springs out back.
So, he goes to his room and drops off his stuff and heads to the back of the house. On his way there, he spots Su messing around with some new device. He is curious as to what she came up with, so he stops and asks her what it is. Su looks at Keitaro and says that she will show him what it is. Keitaro is hesitant about trying an invention that Su hasn't even tested yet, but he doesn't have time to think about it. As he is thinking, Su gets impatient and activates the device.
The device is a miniature gun, and it is sitting on the edge of a table. She flicks the switch the device comes on and starts making a humming sound. Keitaro looks over and sees that Su had pushed a few buttons, and that the part of the device pointed at him is starting to light up. He starts to get really nervous, and tells Su that he doesn't want to try it. Too late. The part of the device pointed at him is fully lit up, and shoots a blue laser and strikes him in the chest.
The light that had struck Keitaro only lasted for a few seconds, then it disappeared. He looked himself over, and he was in one piece. He asks Su what the device was supposed to do, and she says that she will tell him when she fixes it. So, Keitaro decides to go ahead and go to the hot springs.
