Chapter #5

Danger to Professor Reynard

by: Phelina Hemtrop Author IconMail Icon
The figure was huge- tall and menacing with broad shoulders and a lean face. Unoticed by the professor, he raised the weapon in his hand and brought it down hard. With only a quiet grunt, Professor Reynard crumpled to the sand. The figure motioned with his hand, and more shadows rose out of the dunes. They dragged the two bodies smoothly over the sand- one was slung over a shoulder, and the other, Professor Reynard, was loaded onto a camel- his body supported there by another rider as he swayed unconsciously in his seat. The sun was not much higher in the sky before the party left, leaving only a few marks in the sand, soon to be swept away.
