Its gaze lingers on you for only a brief moment then sweetly it looks at the shimmering egg. Lifting its large slender tail the dragon began to rub the egg. The gentle movements creating swirling black currents to flow over the surface and the way in which the dragon was stroking the egg made it appear to be polishing the gleaming shell. Then with graceful movements it adjusts the egg to a new resting position and curls its self about it. With a deep sigh and a flip of its graceful wings the egg was gone, wrapped in its parents embrace and blending with the scales that were mirrored so flawlessly by the offspring.
Once in a comfortable position the dragon again looks toward you its eyes glimmering in the dark had an amused look in them and you hear a soft melodious voice cooing in your mind and almost, your heart.
“A human. This is a very unexpected surprise my dear. Is he to be our dinner, or were you simply supplying entertainment for the egg?” The female dragon seemed to smile her toothy grin both beautiful and fearsome.
Her mate simply growled in reply and stood over you with a mighty strength. The two dragons were so different in personality yet they had a love for each other that filled the chamber. It reminds you of a newlywed couple in the human world. It is baffling that dragons and humans have so much in common, yet they both fear and hate the other.
“Watch him. I don’t know if we can trust him. I must deal with a little… pest problem outside.” The male dragon’s voice startled you from your thoughts as he turns to walk out of the chamber, his massive tail nearly flooring you.
“Oh do be careful dear. Even the smallest of pests may have a sting.” Her chuckle was both deep and beastly as well as musical and soothing. She was a very bewildering creature.
Again he growled and with no more reply he was gone.
You are left in the care of the female dragon with her egg. What do you do?
