Chapter #2

The note

    by: Homebrewer Author IconMail Icon
You look at your alarm. It says that it is only one minute after you last looked at it. But that can't be right. You feel rested, you were aware of time passing in your sleep and you remember a rather strange dream about falling from a train platform. "The bloody thing is broken," you think. You turn on the light and open the curtains. It is still dark outside, with no glimmer of dawn. This is also strange. Usually when you wake up the sun has at least started its journey above the horizon.

You go to your bedroom door and try to open it. It is locked. This is disturbing. Your bedroom has not previously had a lock. Perhaps your parents have put one on, but why?

Peeping from under the door is a folded paper which says "Read me" on its outside. You pick it up, and open it.

"Hello Max," it says, "You are currently in an interactive story. From now on, you only have two choices to make at certain points. Yesterday, you had a whole myriad of choices every second. From now on, your life is predetermined to just two choices. You will find these on pieces of paper left in obvious places. Your challenge is to escape this hell of limitations. There is a way. But only if you follow the correct path. BWAhahaha."

This is worrying, and you don't believe it. "I'll just shout for my mother," you think and try to yell "Mum" but no sound comes out. You see a piece of paper next to your alarm clock. It gives you the following two choices:

You have the following choices:

1. "Climb out of your bedroom window"

2. "There are magic shoes under the bed. Put them on."

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
