"Could you tell me a little about it?" you ask, while not completely ignorant of grythons they were not a beast you had had much contact with having only ever seen one which had utterly ignored you while you were questing.
"Certainly sir" the proprietor beamed. "Grythons also referred to as griffins or griffons are creatures composed of the king of the beasts and the king of the birds." He glanced at you briefly
"Go on" you say.
"That is a lion and eagle respectively. Typically it has the head, wings and optionally in this instance sir the forelegs of an eagle and the lower half of a lion, or rather a lioness in this case." He finished looking at you.
The thought of using a grython as a mount amuses you causing you to chuckle briefly. " What abilities do they possess?" You ask curiously.
"Well sir" he began "they are known for being able to resist and dispell dark magic on top of being very powerful and strong fighters though one could argue that was almost a disadvantage..." he trailed off.
"Disadvantage?" you question him.
"Well sir they are highly honorable and would never attack a creature weaker than themselves unless provoked or commanded."
You stroke your beard in thought "What do they look like exactly?" you ask after a moments contemplation.
"That all really depends, sir" he mused "There are two main kinds. The first is the regular grython of which, should you select it we can tweak to your liking." He chuckled briefly as though at the thought of this. "As mentioned previously it is a strong, noble and majestic creature. On top of this she would rush to your aid if you ever to get in danger able to free you of any dark magics you found yourself victim of." He hesitated for a brief moment "You would first have to prove yourself worthy to her sir." He added in a way suggesting it was an afterthought.
"Prove myself?" you ask him.
"Something I am certain a great warrior and adventurer such as yourself could do easily" He said flatteringly and in a manner suggesting he himself was not to sure on that point either.
He cleared his throat. "Regardless the second is the hippogriff which is half horse half eagle tamer and easier to control . You would not have to prove yourself to her sir. Further she would be a swift mount though weaker than a true grython."
"It is" he added clearly referring to the latter grython. "Almost like Pegasus in a sense." He finally finished gazing at you questioningly clearly it was time for you to choose between the two variants of the mythical beast.
