Chapter #4

Hand Bagged!

    by: Deathworks Author IconMail Icon
Searching Marsha in this chaos is futile. You can hardly tell all the folks around you apart and you don't know which way you are facing. Risking your life running around the dance floor won't get you anywhere but under someone's soles. With that in mind, you dash towards the hand bag just as you are able to understand "... Ah! There it is! " You leap for the opening while wondering why, no matter how much noise there is, people always hear the important, that is dangerous, stuff. As you land within the bag, it is lifted, obviously retrieved by its owner.
As the gravity increases and your stomach takes a dive, your world is also turned by 90 degrees, the opening now visible high above you.
"You are lucky you found it again in that mess. And nothing's fallen out although you didn't close it!" Just as you thought you were safe, the lights go out as the hand bag is closed. On the positive side, this also diminishes the noise tremendously allowing you to focus.
Now that your mind clears, you wonder whatever made you jump into a stranger's hand bag. For all you know, she could be an exchange student from another continent about to leave for home. Or she could be deadly afraid of bugs and crush you the moment you move. But now you don't have a choice. You can't escape, and your future is as dark as your surroundings. But wait! Although there is definitely no light entering the hand bag, you are still able to see things. The colors are darkened, but things are quite discernible.
Since you have nothing else to do, you start exploring. The only problem is that the ground is constantly moving around as the girl dances, swinging then bag from side to side and up and down. Once you got accustomed to it, you are even able to run about, albeit feeling a bit sea- sick. Maybe you can get a feel for your unwitting host so that you may know how to introduce yourself best - or that you really need to escape before you are found.
Let's see, a part of a pipeline - thick and short, this must be her lipstick. A circular sheet of plastic inside some more plastic - preparations for long nights :) A big metal box with a single cut going around its entire body? Two pencils, some paper. A cigarette. Ah, then the box must be a lighter. Thus far, nothing uncommon, but no information about her. The ground is cover by some cloth, maybe a hanky?
As you dig deeper, you uncover a gigantic mural. Reminding yourself of your surroundings, you recognize it to be a photo on some government document. Great god! That picture is bigger than you are tall! Pushing the cloth aside, you identify it as your host's driver's license. As far as you can tell, she is quite cute. Under other circumstances, you might have offered her a drink or something. Well, let's see. Shelly Mason, 21 years old. Doesn't sound too bad.
Shelly seems to be in a good mood today, as she keeps on dancing. The rocking motion and the distant music make you sleepy. This bag should be a safe place, and you have nowhere else to go. So what are you doing?

You have the following choices:

1. You try to stay awake so that you don't miss your chance

2. You lie down and take a nap
