I Don't Think This House is Quite So Abandonded...

You walk a few steps to look around, before feeling something. It's like someone is spying on you. You look around, but see no one. You act like you may have been looking for something and found it, and continue on to throw off a possible pursuer. You keep walking, listening for footsteps that are not your own. You don't turn your head, but you use the corner of your eye and any mirror you find for a quick peek at a possible stalker. Still, you see nothing.
