For anyone to ask me about anything, just type in your question! |
Ilona, I feel so ignorant asking this, but I don't know anything about the Netherlands' politics. Well to be honest I don't know that much about it myself, lol. We have a queen, and under her is the rest of the government. Now if you ask me, the queen is there just for show. I'm sure she does more, but all we ever see her do is attend the necessary national holidays, hand out medals of honor etc The government is supposed to be the 'voice of the people', we chose a government every 4 years. There's different parties in the government, there are more than 10 parties to vote for I think, and a few, who get the most votes form the coalition. The other, depending on how much votes they get, also get to be in the government, as the opposition, who also have things to say. I'm not really sure how it works . We have a prime minister, at the moment that's Balkenende, who's such an idiot!! He looks a bit like Harry Potter Anyway, at the moment it's a bit of a mess here in Holland, with strikes and demonstrations etc against the government. Sure thing a lot of people will vote different than they did this time, and I'm not even sure these idiots will get make it till the next election. That happened before, a few years ago, the government 'fell' (that's how we call it) and we had to vote again earlier than planned. I don't think I'm being very articulate here It's hard to explain something you don't even understand yourself "I want to be the one to dance in the sun" |
