It's pretty easy to control once you get the hang of it. As I said, I haven't been diagnosed and I'm not planning to rush out to the doctor because it's not serious in the sense that a bitchy mood and jitters aren't that serious. I guess it's kind of low on the scale of scary blood sugar issues; my dad and grandfather both have diabetes (or at least my grandfather does and is on insulin; my dad got much better and might not qualify as diabetic anymore), so it's not surprising I may have inherited that. But some blood sugar issues involve blacking out, etc., and I've got nothing like that. In fact, I may have had this for a long time and never realized what it was. (Being bitch = being a teenager, right?! I never linked it to needing more food!) I sometimes get dizzy when I stand up quickly; I've had that for years and never worried about it. But I guess it could be a blood sugar thing? It's not as hard for me to deal with as it probably is for other people, because I'm eating really well as it is and I don't have to cut any foods out of my diet, since I don't eat refined sugar at all. (I don't even know if hypoglycemics have to cut out sugar? Is that just diabetics? My friend Debbie has hypoglycemia and she's always talking about eating ice cream and stuff.) It's just a matter of balancing my diet and when I eat. I feel bad sounding whiny about this when Ilona just told us that her dad is so sick! My health "issues" are nothing compared to something like Chrone's Disease! I'm sorry, Ilona; I'll stop whining! Visit my web site at http://elizabeth.bouma-holtrop.com! |
