This was really random thing for me to, but I feel soooo lonely when I'm at school, I needed something to keep me company. OK, so I was talking with some aquaintances at dinner, and one was telling me about his betta fish (aka beta fish, Siamese fighting fish, or Chinese fighting fish - the males don't like each other too well, and are very agressive). He mentioned that betta fish are very easy to take care of - you only have to feed them once a day, and change their water every week or so. And even then, you don't have to change all the water, just 3/4 of it. He also commented, when many of us exclaimed that such a fish would be perfect for our busy lives, that Wal-Mat had some pretty healthy fish, and much healthier than Meijers. So I did a little on-line investigation and immediately headed to Wal-Mart. I think I have two very sweet fish. I named them Cosmo and Wanda (after the fairy god parents/goldfish on Nick's Fairly Odd Parents), although I haven't decided who is who, yet, not to mention the fact that they're both male. They share a little aquarium, but it's a special 'betta tank' so they can't see each other. They were a little shy at first, but I think they're warming up to me...especially after I gave them a little food! Oh, they're not the dogs who love me unconditionally at home...(ok, Comet loves me unconditionally, and Lexi loves me as long as she can get something out of me) but since we can't have dogs in the dorms, and my parents won't let me bring one up here, anyway, I can't complain. Well, that's my betta fish story. I've never had fish before, and I'll be just devestated if I kill them, but they're mine, all mine! ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** or She who was formerly ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
