Dearest, you must sing on Tuesday! I command thee! We only push the thermostat up to 70 degrees when it's really freaking cold. Usually it's at 63. Never fear; I haven't betrayed you! I'm pleased and flattered that you follow our example with your heating now. You never told me that! Emmet, whose family hosted the party, love Myers-Briggs, so he and Rachel got a bunch of people together to take the test. I came out so strongly ENFJ that it isn't even funny. Ryland declined to participate, but Emmet and Franny had done it with him before; that's how I know he's an ISTP (the I is somewhat borderline, though, according to Emmet; so perhaps he sometimes acts ESTP, a personality I don't understand as well as I think I understand ISTPs). Ha! Me have superpowers! I can stick out my tongue over the internet if I want to. Blpppttth! There. Noooo, Ryland never mentions girlfriends, lesbians, or anything related to "relationships" (why does the word relationship imply a romantic relationship? Relationships in life encompass so much more than just the romantic). It's lore, really -- or common knowledge, depending on your take -- in the community. Fiona teases him about it. It's true, though. He's had two or three girlfriends from our community, and all have developed lesbian streaks after breaking up with him! Crazy, yo? Either he's simply attracted to butch women -- or he's one hell of a boyfriend. Probably the latter. I have no high opinion of his emotional skills; mostly I like him because he's cuddly and damned attractive and, like I said, he's so opposite of what I am that I can really relax around him. He regularily comments that most humans should be killed. I honestly think he's only half joking (he does have a weird sense of humor, but he sure sounds serious). He doesn't like people. Literally. I don't understand it, but I won't pretend that his opinion is different than it is -- even if I'd be more comfortable with a little more compassion from him. Rachel and Franny are completely nonplussed by his attitude; even Fiona demanded several times for Ryland to tell whether he was joking or not, after one of his "people are like rabbits and we should kill them all" comments. He won't tell. I find that very amusing. He's not dangerous! Why should he pretend to like the human rance, if he doesn't really? As long as he isn't killing anyway, I don't give a damn what he says. And he's kind, he really is, and a good person, in the purest sense of the word. Plus, I don't feel like analyzing him. He wouldn't appreciate it, and it makes my head hurt. I don't think west coasters are more liberal and alternative than midwesterners, but I think they are more inclined towards things like unschooling -- or, unschoolers are inclinded to move to the west coast. I think it's a bit of both reasons, actually. Nope, nothing between Mike and Shayna. Shayna was holed up with Mike because he was crying on her shoulder about Franny. Yep, yep. And Franny, that first night, was pouring out her heart to me about Mike. Gotta love extraverts, eh? ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
