OK. I'm in the Navy. We just got back from the Gulf where the temperature would reach around 120 degrees on average. I stood a watch on the top of the ship manning one of the guns.
It's hot, I'm tired, I've only been getting about 4 hours of sleep a night and I've been standing this watch a good 10 (or more) hours a day.
The guy I'm on watch with asks me to tell him a story, so I do. I told him the story of "Lycanthrope". By the time I was done he was just sitting there eyes wide.
Well, that night, rather than sleep, I wrote it all down. I've been working on it since. But for me, it seems the only times I can come up with more stuff for it is when I can't write it down.
I could be working on it right now, but I opened the document and couldn't think of anything more to add to it.
So for me the weirdest place I've ever had the muse was when I was sitting at my computer with nothing else to do and all of a sudden I wanted to write.
