Yes, I think you're right: you have to make sure the name fits the pet's personality. When we had a kitten for a couple of days (before we found out we were allergic and had to give it back ), we named her Alice because she was so curious, like Alice in Wonderland, who fell down the rabit hole. I miss Alice!
