Oh, yummy, a Caitlin letter! Really, you don't have to meet your faculty advisor? How...strange. I'm almost positive that, at least at HC, you've GOT to meet yours because you've got to have her/his signature on your class schedule before the registrar will approve it. Weird. I didn't know it was different at othre places. When I learned to knit I was much too tight, too. It takes a little practice, but now I can vary my tension (the official term for tightness/looseness) at will. It's funny that I love knitting so much; I never thought I'd be...well, a knitter, I guess. Dad's job is mildly confusing to explain. He started out as a professor in the teacher education department. That means he was teaching the college students who wanted to be elementary or high school teachers. He went on to be TE department chair, but stepped down when he was requested to become assistent dean. Now he's assistent dean for curriculum development (say that three times fast) and also a prof in the TE department. A year or so back they wanted him to apply for the full dean position when the other guy left, but, glittery and shiny as the job may sound, being dean is a hellish job. I'm glad Dad didn't give in to his vanity and accept the offer. Urgh. Anyway. So he's halftime an administrator and halftime a professor. And his subject is teacher education. Although, actually, he used to teach high school English. But history, he is not. And it's not dumb to inquire!
