Caitsy, see if any of your libraries have any of Elizabeth Zimmerman's or Meg Swansen's books on knitting. They're a joy to read. Meg is Elizabeth's daughter and both are big names in the knitters' world. (Unfortunately, Elizabeth has died, but Meg is still alive.) The books ramble through fine techniques of the craft while inspiring one to knit, knit, knit, and take joy in the creation of yarn confections. However, my point is that I think they also have basic teach-yourself knitting things in the beginnings. Maybe not. If not, they'll be on the same shelf as books that will teach the basic knit stitch. It's so easy to do, and so charmingly and refreshingly and savagely relaxing. I'd so love you to take pleasure out of knitting, because I love it so much myself! On another topic, what is WITH all the bad moods?! Dad's in a horrible mood, as is Rachel, I'm absolutely rotten through, Yana's feeling sad, you say you're blue...what the bloody hell's going on?! Something in the air? Strange, I tell you; bloody strange. But it is nice to have company.
