On the menu on the left, if you select Writing.Com Tools -> WritingML: Docs & Help, you'll get a handy quick reference for the ML language. There's a section on links, with examples.

So, if you want to post the link on newsfeed for people to see:

If it is a stand-alone, use {item:xxxxx} where the x's are the item number.

If it is a part of a book or blog, then use {entry:xxxxxxxx} where the x's are the number of the entry. In this case make sure you use the entry number and not the book's item number.
