A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
So, for the first time I can think of, I started prep with basically NADA in terms of idea and development. The only thing I had was I watched the old Soviet cartoon version of THE SNOW QUEEN (well, the original English dub), which I adore, and I wanted to one day play around with the idea of the Robber Girl leading a gang of thieves who sneak into a secretive mountain nation for goods to sell to stay alive. And with that being the only darn thing I had going for me, I started prep. Y'all, it is hard to have nothing. But I've delved into my different tools and things are starting to sort of come together. My Tarot deck is starting to get snotty with me and repeating readings when I ask new questions because it wants a break. I also have a story and worldbuilding card deck as a backup if the deck really quits on me. And I'd like to thank Roseille ā„ for posting her character bio, since that's been helpful and forced me to think. I'm still struggling a bit to work Scandinavian folklore into the overall world, but I can definitely do that later. And I, as ever, recommend using something like a Tarot deck to solve questions. Even if you don't believe in it, the cards are a great tool of inspiration and introspection. Even looking at the pictures and taking them literally can provide good ideas. -Quaddy Check this Out!
