Religion as a reason for conflict

thanks, i have some comments on your replies.

1. i'm not sure if WW2 was a religious war, it was certainly an ideological war though. Hitler didn't hate the Jews as a Religion, he hated them as a Race. i do see where your coming from though.

2. you could say the same things about the U.S. admittedly the condeming of religion is more subtle, but i's definately there in a lot of Bush's speaches.

3. i have asked the same question many times and tend to get one of two answers.
the blind faith answer:
'Ahhh! god works in mysterious ways'
And the more reasonable answer:
'Well, God gave Mankind Free Will, so that they could choose for themselves. men are reasponsable for there actions. God is Not a get out of jail free card for the imoral in our society.'

4. but does that make it a religion?
'God favors small children, alcoholics and the chronically stoned.'
