Here's an interesting metric:

One of my beta readers, who gave me 10 pages of hand-written notes for Invasive Species (and I credit her notes with it finding a trad published home), and gave an as-yet unpublished novel 29 pages of notes (!), handed back my latest work this morning.

Less than a page of notes.

She thinks it should be published "yesterday."

That is a metric that made me feel quite chuffed.
