Sorry for the silence! It's been a joy to lurk on everyone's discussions. I've been keeping my head down and plodding onward. This month has been a busy and tiring one, but I've got only two prompts to go before I'm done, and while I know it'll be an uphill battle—writing actual, coherent narrative right now is like pulling teeth—I'm going to sit down tonight and get it done.
I started this month unsure whether I should participate in OctoPrep, and while participation has certainly kept me busy, it's been hugely rewarding. I've got over 10,000 words of outline/planning/worldbuilding for this story in the past two weeks, and it feels so much richer than it was when I started. There's still a ways to go (I know some things will iron themselves out only when I'm drafting the thing—which will take a while since I have a few projects in the queue ahead of this one), but the world of this story is 10,000+ words richer than it was when I started.
Hopefully next October will be a little less chaotic and I can stick around here more. But even though I haven't been able to show it, I'm cheering you all on!
