Masktrix's branch has Will (in Shelly's mask) using her medication. The story with Alexis isn't as clear, as the condition only appears after getting the mind band. The most likely answer is "yes" to both, because of how imago works. In essence, the mask copies the individual at the state it was - which includes anything up to and including any conditions, temporary or otherwise, they may be dealing with. There may be some exceptions (Masktrix's branch with Marion comes to mind, as Will uses the corpse-golem spell to "save" Brett from getting drowned - though I don't recall if he placed a mask on him before drowning), but for the most part it's like perfume, makeup and implants - if it's inside the body, then it's copied. It doesn't matter if it's genetic/autoimmune or pathogen-based - if it's a condition running at the moment the mask copies the individual, then it gets copied as well. The best example is trying to copy someone pregnant. The mask copies both the woman AND the fetus at whatever point of gestation it was when copied. However, because of how masks work, the baby will disappear minutes after birth - because the copy of the baby is divorced from the wearer's essentia. Someone with the flu when copied WILL have the flu, but it can't infect anyone else for the same reason. Same as someone with STDs - they'll suffer the effects but won't infect anyone. The only way something like diabetes could be cured from a mask is to deal directly with the mask's contained imago. Mental conditions should also transfer with a mind band (or anima band), but the clash between two minds may cause different results. When Will puts on Maria's mind band, he immediately gets her convoluted trains of thought, but also gets to distance from its more numbing effects. And Philip Fairfax uses Maria's mind band to frightening success, to the point that it's entirely possible their combination of intellect and brain function compliment and enhance each other. |
