Re: DAY 20: Setting Definitions
Let me start with a reminder that you should use the Prep exercises in the way that best meets the needs of you, the author, for the particular project you are working on, so there's really no "wrong" way to do the assignments.

That said, it seems I need to clarify the instructions for this assignment. It's not "settings definitions," as in, "define your settings."

It's "settings: definitions," with a colon, as in, "define things that need to be defined, " and this falls under the assignment category of "settings." (The categories are plot, character, setting, general.)

The purpose of this assignment is to define things in your story that need consistency, so that you have the details for reference during the rough draft phase.

Examples from your project might include:

- Nonna Stella's recipes
- police procedure
- intranet and criminal database (which you included, good job)
- jurisdictions of your investigators
- job descriptions where applicable (one of which you included)
- applicable mental illnesses/diagnoses and their symptoms and treatments

...and anything else you think of that you want to have handy for reference in November.

You clearly spent 15+ minute and covered a lot of this, so definitely don't spend more time on it unless you want to. šŸ™‚
