A month-long novel-planning challenge with prizes galore. |
That wasn't just members. It was the leadership. They decided who lived with whom (grammar?) and who you got to go on a chaperoned date with. Though, especially in the beginning of a relationship, chaperoned dates aren't probably the worst thing...so long as you get to pick the person you are dating and the chaperone. But neither of those were an option. There's an LDS church near me. Since I live in the college housing area (as I'm currently a student), they are smart and put up signs for free help with moving, cleaning, etc. Definitely an excellent way to get to know folks and share your faith! LDS is not really my thing, but I will say that most of my experiences with the folks have been pretty positive (so long as they don't get too pushy) and they certainly make GREAT neighbors! YOU WERE IN ARGENTINA?!? WHERE?!? I absolutely LOVE Ushuaia! It's the only place on Earth I've been able to find any sense of peace since I came back from Iraq. No idea why, but there's definitely something special there! Interestingly, I was in Israel a few months ago and met a female former Israeli Soldier and we got to talking about Argentina. She said she also feels some unique sense of peace about that place. WOW! It's not just me! Crazy!!! I'm glad you don't see other faiths as opponents. I don't think that's healthy for us or for the church. I believe that the Bible is accurate, but that man can never accurately interpret every word in there. There will always be differences of opinions, but I do believe that most, if followed with a sincere heart, will still lead us to Heaven, so long as we know The Way. I'm VERY glad you're (probably?) over the talk of quitting WdC! You are still new, but would leave a hole the size of Idaho. And be sure to check out my challenge
