Zuul >> My apologies Suezz, that was kind of a tangent. No need to apologize! I only highlighted those statements as a reminder of the thread's object. I know how easy it is to think in terms of "What would I, the reader, like to see happen?" because I'm constantly fighting the temptation "What would I, the writer, like to compose?" So every time talk veers that way, I want to tap the thread's shoulder (not your shoulder) to keep it from wandering off. The rest of your post above is a great way of recasting your suggestions so they fit the thread's purpose. Thanks for those observations! rugal >> Which actually begs the question: golems aren't unlimited and there's a point where having too many means they won't listen or at least are harder to control. So what happens then? Does he just keep what he has and move on? Release the people under the golem masks? Yes, there is a golem limit. That is the writer's reason for Will thinking, "Maybe I should get some partners." Then he and they are each limited to ~6. Will doesn't know there's a limit, but he (or Kim) can sense that 6 is probably a good number to try to manage, and that accidentally keeps him (and them) under the limit. |
