As an ally, Jenny would be a tough sell. Even if you told her you'd be helping out her friends, she'd probably be more than a little uncomfortable and there's a good possibility that she'd probably say "screw this" and bolt or try to figure out what she could do to stop Will. If Frank and Joe poke around and get in contact with her, she'd ally with them in an instant. If Will was looking for allies then the RPG set would probably be good. I'm sure Keith wouldn't be a hard sell either. I actually think Chen could be a plausible ally if Will takes the precaution of never actually allowing him near the book. Chen's business-minded enough that Will could probably cut a deal with him. Set him up somewhere to where he could make a good profit, give him the run down and basically say "hey, all you have to do is kick a little back to me" and while he wouldn't be Will's buddy, I think he'd go along with it. The best allies are the ones who could conceivably be pushed around a little bit but might not have the ambitions to push back. Brent Pruitt would probably make for a good one. Meghan Farris, probably another. As far as additional spots for Will to set up as doppelgangers, I'll throw a different set of four. First up is Victoria Rodriguez. She's got her own clique, she's basically at the top of that second tier of popularity so turn her into a doppelganger and with Chelsea and Kim you've probably cornered a lot of the "market" between them. The second is Laurent Delacroix because he seems to be the type of guy with charisma to spare so people are drawn towards him. Third is Fatima Zahedi for the reasons I already outlined. She covers the bohemian set and is a face that Will could use to exercise a lot of subtle, soft power from. The fourth is Peyton Morrow. She's a long term face. Chelsea would likely offer her name as a suggestion as she's been shown to have an eye on the junior class in more than one branch so she'd likely have an idea of who Peyton, a big player there, is. Peyton's got a clique she's tight with and most of them desire to become cheerleaders. So if Will basically wants to maintain control of Westside past his senior year, with doppelgangers like Chelsea and Kim, he can set it up so that come graduation, he can move into Peyton's face with things ready for her to take over the "Chelsea Cooper" position. Which actually begs the question: golems aren't unlimited and there's a point where having too many means they won't listen or at least are harder to control. So what happens then? Does he just keep what he has and move on? Release the people under the golem masks? |
