I read this book based solely on the title and cover image. I didn't read the flap to see what it was about...the title made that kinda obvious for me. I was expecting some sort of a story about Florida and discovered that this book is full of short stories. I was disappointed but kept reading. The first story was good and I loved the first line of that story, "I have become a woman who yells." That line was relatable, lol!
By the time I completed reading the entire book, I was still disappointed. It feels as though each short story kind of repeats itself - only the names were changed but the same premise throughout. Don't get me wrong, Groff is a very good writer and these stories have a dark side to them (I love dark!), it's just that they were all too similar.
If you like reading short stories, here's a good book - I just don't recommend reading the whole book in one sitting.
