I already have attempted rape by a childhood friend; proposal of marriage from her step-sister's widower; murder of her mentor by an unseen aggressor; proposal of marriage from an Ottoman Prince, and attempted invasion by a bunch of bad guys using ancient Greek technology. It's more than likely more will occur to me, but I think I have plenty for now.
Today has gone much better, and I have come up with a cunning plan whilst reviewing my outline again. I bought a small ring binder, and some drawing paper. Every scene in the book is getting a sheet. As well as describing the scene, each sheet has a dependence, and a consequence list. This is so I can make sure that when the Proconsul decides to propose marriage, that actually happens somewhere. It also gives me flexibility to shuffle scenes. This is useful as the review showed up some glaring omissions, as well as the need to change order to keep the story from lagging.
