Uh, then...I still feel the same way? That action makes Will seem petty, not evil.

Let's be honest; a plan where he takes over the life of a young girl (evil) only to get close to a famous superstar, then get the identity of her best friend (evil) only to basically plot a moment where he engineers a breakdown?

The reason why I don't feel so sickened is because it reminds me of something I...well, that I actually wrote so many years ago, that has a similar trend. The circumstances are different, though: a superhuman with power over lightning and electricity gets found by a TV producer, gets strong-armed into being the main character of a "Heroes"-esque TV series that was super-popular, marries a beauty pageant queen, has children, and becomes a sensation. At the height of popularity, a "consultant" gets a new character into said TV series to act as the protagonist's brother, then he gets unceremoniously killed to be removed, then the beauty pageant cheats on him and files a divorce, so he ends up unemployed and without a wife. Oh, and having to take care of the children.

I took my protagonist to the edge of suicide. And I have another villain who poisoned her father to take control of the company.

Yes, I write twisted villains, and twisted situations for my heroes. I don't like to; in fact, Seuzz suggested a dark idea for my story's sequel, and I outright rejected it. So when I tell you that I feel that particular action is more petty than evil, it's because it only shows how Will has changed from someone hardened by the circumstances into someone downright sociopathic, but still not doing something that harbors undiluted hatred.

(I can tell you how to make it darker, but I really don't wanna say it on this thread, unless you really feel like hearing it. But again; that depends on perception. If that happens, it's because I really, really, want karma to land on that person like a nuke.)
