I having been going over my completed assignments and doing some digging as well. I read an article by K.M. Weiland about finding the skeleton of your story, understanding enough about my story to write its premise sentence. That should present the general conflict.
I went back to the #2 assignment, Plot: Premise, and discovered that I didn't write one. I studied the "how to" on that and then when I tried plugging in what I have; I came up with a mess. Sooooooooo, I have an idea. I think I can still salvage much of this story and with a few "all nighters," I can do a lot of tweaking to previous assignments. I am going to continue with my assignments from where I am but with this new twist, so I'll be ready for NaNo.
