Hey everyone! I hope this email finds you well! I have a quick question for anyone/everyone reading this. I am currently working on a "high fantasy" novel, and plan on using AD&D software for character creation. If you know anything about AD&D, then you might understand the class system - fighter, rogue, wizard, etc - and how that works. My writing style flows well with that game dynamic, and when making characters at this point, I am planning on making a character class for each kind of character in-story (i.e. have a class for the librarian, the priest, the weaponsmith, bartender, etc.). My question for you is... do you think this strategy would be the best way to go about character creation? It has worked well for me so far, but I am curious as to what everyone thinks, and might suggest. And, once I have a basic outline like this, I go the extra mile and flesh them out into full-fledged characters. I know that making a class for each and every potential type of character is quite a bit of work, and I am the kind of write who is prone to making more work for myself than is necessary, but but I want to give this novel my all and am not weary of taking further steps if it benefits my book in the long run. |
