Yes the coins and certificates work the same way. The coins are a great way to be able to share and gift to many WDC members in a reasonably priced form of barter. This is good for newbies as well as for groups especially those who have a huge list of members. Collecting them can be fun also. If need be someone can collect gol d coins and then exchange them for items in the shop or for gift certificates.
