Not so much a book (though it's based off a short story by William J. Locke), this is a movie I would highly recommend!
It's that typical British drama that you can put on a rainy afternoon, curl up a couch with your hot cocoa and sob into your pillow when it's done.
Summary: In 1936, England, two sisters (played by the fantabulous Judi Dench and Maggie Smith) in their twilight years rescue a young handsome Polish violinist (Daniel Bhrul) when he washes up on shore from a shipwreck. His presence disrupts the small sleepy fishing village, where his music comes to play a big role and we discover that falling in love has no age limit. Poignant, beautiful, and if you don't shed a tear at the end of this, you're a heartless human (kidding, but seriously though...you will be moved).
P.P.S: The music is to die for! Thanks to the wonderful violinist Joshua Bell!
