I see your points here Char and can see why it is a frustration for you. Even though, my thoughts on it vary somewhat, I do think that it is ignorant to just assume that everyone with a diagnosis is dangerous. My fear is due to the stigma that is created around violence, less people will actually get help. Like you mentioned, how the United States handles mental health is really crappy already and needs an overhaul as it is. Adding the stigma just sets it back more.
