For different reasons than you, I still have a hard time saying those " three little words". But Mr. J knows my issues, and like everyone else says, I 'show' a lot of love but not 'say' it.
I have this hang-up about empty words and false promises and stuff. So in my mind, I'm not forcing him to say anything he doesn't want to say, if I say it first. After 17 years.
My point is, if you're being honest with your man, and he's patient and understands, then that's half the problem solved. Maybe you'll say it once and not be able to say it again for a long period of time. Maybe you'll write it down. But you need to keep communicating, and find ways to communicate that you do love him, and if it's like me, it'll always be a wonky thing for you. So yes, you have company in this area. I find it easier to write it than say it. He gets lots of notes and cards.
