That's an awesome idea! I use the template that comes with Scrivener for my minor characters, but, of course, the main characters always need a little more development. When you use a template, you know you won't get to a point in your story and not know something about your character, because your template will not let you forget anything. I'm a huge template fan, just for that reason. Once you get it exactly how you want it, it is much easier to create a character that is "real" rather than flat, and that can jump off the page and into the reader's life.
