Re: New item idea
by Past Member 'northernwrites'
I can't see people using a recipe item for very many recipes, though.

Most recipes are fairly short. If someone wanted to share a lot of recipes, they'd want to put them all in one item so they wouldn't take up so much port space.

So I'd guess it's mostly the formatting that's the issue?

With a Premium+ membership, you could use a custom signature up to 500 characters in length to create a template for all the recipe-related WritingML formatting for either a Forum item or a Book item. Both item types are searchable, have the ability to link to individual posts/entries, and either could have a custom TOC in the header of the item.

With an Upgraded+ membership, you could use a macro up to 500 characters in length to create a template for for all the recipe-related WritingML formatting to use anywhere. If 500 characters isn't big enough, you could also use more than one macro to create templates for different parts of the recipe. Macros from Writing.Com 101

With a copy/pasted template (which could be longer), a Forum item can be used that way by Basic+ memberships, and a Book item by Upgraded+ memberships.

With any membership, a copy/pasted template and linkable locations could be used to create a recipe collection with a custom TOC in a Static item. A Campfire item would also be a possibility for multiple people to share recipes.
