Re: Stuck in a rut
Hi Sara!
I hear ya loud and clear on this. I haven't been feeling so well lately and so my muse seems to have decided to take a short hiatus.
What really helps me when I get stuck, is to go back and revisit some of the things I have written that went well (in the prep). That seems to help my muse get her umph back a bit.
I know this prep is to help prepare us for NaNo, but some days the assignment just doesn't fit my mood. So, again I go back and work on another element of my story for a while. Often that gets my brain going to the point where I can then go on to do the assignment / bonus. Some days, I just have to do catch up and do 2 days of assignments and bonuses when my muse is feeling more cooperative.
I do my minimum 15 minutes on those icky days, but know I will have to put a lot more time in, in the days to come. You can always go back and add more to any assignment.
