When I was in high school, I sprained my dominant hand pretty badly. So bad I was in a cast for about 5 weeks. This meant I could not write. ANYTHING! (Not even school assignments--which was hysterical). This is before computers were pretty much standard so it wasn't even like I could type anything.
After about three days of me whining that I couldn't write, my mom got me a little micro-recorder so I could brainstorm and write. And offered to either transcribe or keep supplying me with tapes.
Lemme tell you... I had some pretty funny tapes by the time I got my cast off!
