As for your novel started at 16, if it is anything like my early stuff, be glad you lost it
I'm proud of a few things I wrote at that age, but those are all short works and poems. Nothing of novelette length or greater was worth much. Although, some of the ideas from them survived to become very different work later. My brain was just not ready to build a bigger work at that age, I'm afraid.
