What I mean is, if I'm writing a story about someone targeting, kidnapping, and killing teen girls by using social media. Can I say he's targeting them on places like FaceBook, Twitter, or Instagram? Or should I make up my own name of a site? But then will people understand it's a social media site?
Okay, so the premise is this:
A man uses a fake pic to try to get girls to notice him. He will troll their page for info about them, and try to say they know who they are. He'll make them feel bad for not remembering him. Finally they will feel comfortable with him, and agree to meet for a date. At this time, he will take the opportunity to kidnap them.
Could this be considered bad publicity for FaceBook etc?
And really, this stuff happens more than you think in real life.
