I've always ended chapters when the feel like they should end - at a natural lull in the story - probably because I'm a total amateur, lol. I've been binge-reading the whole Dresden Files series so I can remember all the stuff that happens prior to the "new" release (which came out in June - WHAT?! It takes awhile to read sixteen books) and he always, without fail, stops in the middle of the action. I LOVE that. He sums it up at the end of each chapter, too, like, "...my feet were trapped in mud, I was sinking slowly, my shield bracelet was broken, and all my friends were locked in the dungeon. What else could go wrong?"
